Saint Anthony Village
integrating vintage charm with new construction
We were brought in to solve a very specific challenge with this property. A stunning new addition had been added to a vintage mid-century rambler, complete with spiral staircase. However, the two spaces lacked a sense of integration and holistic purpose. We approached this project with the goal of showing the spirit of mid-century modern’s focus on craft, even in the new addition.
This home was full of rich inspiration: a gorgeous double-side corner fireplace, beautiful original cabinetry and untouched original bathroom. We worked to link the custom wood spiral staircase to the home’s original mid century design with a focus on wood furniture, rich colors and abstract art on the interior. We then took a confused outdoor space and gave it purpose with simple, quick landscaping to help unite the two wings of the home.
With such an investment in the new remodel, we wanted to make sure that the unfinished basement didn’t lower buyer perception of the home as a whole. We worked to bring light and a sense of purpose to unused basement spaces.

Before and After
front yard + entry:
updated colors and landscaping create inviting curb appeal, while the new front patio turns an awkward, empty corner into a charming spot to enjoy mature trees and neighborhood vistas.
backyard oasis:
purposeful use of color and a clear delineation of space transform a daunting grassy blank slate into a versatile outdoor living space, with plenty of room for entertaining, relaxing, and enjoying all the great outdoors has to offer. Modern materials, clean lines, and strong geometry help integrate the addition with the original structure.
the kitchen - from dated to darling:
pops of color and a kitchen island amp up the charm of the original birch cabinetry in this vintage kitchen, reframing an inefficient layout to create an airy, versatile, and multifunctional space that works for cooking projects and gatherings alike.
the new wing - primary suite:
the recent addition felt disconnected to the original home in both design and function. Relocating the primary bedroom to the ground floor let us reimagine the loft as the ultimate, luxurious private retreat.
from guest room to playrooom:
a grown up guest room wasn’t connecting with a market full of young families, so we switched up the layout and transformed the second bedroom into the dreamy playroom - perfect for the new buyers!
living + dining room:
heavy fixtures and oversized furniture crowded the old layout and took attention away from original architectural details. Airy furniture and reflective surfaces give the combined formal living and dining room space to breath.
the family room:
updated surfaces, soothing cozy color and playful charm bring back a confused and dated basement from wasted space to friendly, clean, and easy family room.
the project room:
mechanicals and harsh lighting overwhelmed the old space. Updated easy-clean flooring, fresh paint, and strategic room dividers transform this space from a dead corner of the basement into a creative retreat.
the laundry room:
updated easy-clean flooring, fresh paint and expanded storage take the laundry room from an overwhelming and untidy basement space to a comfortable and organized work space.
the lower bathroom:
a full remodel with updated plumbing, lighting, tiling and more saved this neglected and impossible-to-use basement bathroom, transforming it into a clean, updated European style 3/4 bath.
